Poni is proud to announce that in 2018 after a recent inspection by the MOD Diving Standards Officer for Adventure Training (AT), we are now one of ten dive centers around the world to be recognized as meeting the required standard to be listed as an approved training center for members of British Forces.
After passing a rigorous audit by the Senior Diving Standards Inspector (Adventure Training) from the Defense Diving Standards Team appointed by the Ministry of Defense (MOD) UK, Poni has been approved as a COMMAC (Commercial Ministry of Defense UK Approved Center) to train the British military for recreational diving and to support British diving expeditions to Brunei. The safety protocols and standards required by the MOD to attain this accreditation are stringent and we feel this reflects the already strong commitment to the safe diving practices.
This audit includes inspection of our HSE and safety protocols, diving operations, management practices, emergency action plan and emergency management, boat & filling stations and is in line with ISO 45001.
The audit will be done annually by the Defense Diving Standards Team with three monthly air tests done in Singapore according to the BS EN12021:2014 to meet the JSP319 requirement (PSA HSE DVIS No.9), and annual air tests done in the UK to guarantee our air test quality. Other tests include annual gauge calibration tests according to the SAMM MS ISO/IEC 17025. This prestigious rating is awarded to only 10 diving centers around the world. Poni runs regular BSAC diving courses for British military personnel from the British Forces Brunei Garrison under their Adventure Training scheme and receives British military diving expeditions from the UK annually.
